The European Airshow Council (EAC) was delighted to announce the appointment of two exceptional individuals to its board, furthering the organization’s commitment to enhancing the airshow industry across Europe. Announced during the recent EAC Convention, joining the board are Wing Commander Adam Collins, currently serving as the Officer Commanding of the Royal Air Force Aerobatics Team, the Red Arrows, and Frederic Akary, a renowned commercial and warbird pilot from Mistral Warbirds in France.

Wing Commander Adam Collins commands a dedicated team of Royal Air Force regular and reserve personnel, collaborating with civil service colleagues to deliver precise and dynamic displays that support national interests both at home and overseas. A graduate from initial officer training at RAFC Cranwell in 2000, Collins brings a wealth of experience, having completed operational tours flying the Tornado GR4 and served as the last exchange pilot of the F-111 with the Royal Australian Air Force. His subsequent roles included Flight Commander operating the Hawk T1 and serving as the Red Arrows’ safety supervisor and ground commentator during the RAF's centenary year in 2018. Most recently, he has supported operations in the Middle East.
"We are thrilled to have Wing Commander Adam Collins join the European Airshow Council," said Manolis Karchalios, Chairperson of the EAC. "His extensive military background, leadership abilities, and dedication to aviation excellence will tremendously benefit our efforts to promote the airshow community."

Frederic Akary is an accomplished display pilot and Boeing 777 Captain, known for flying displays across Europe in his F-86 Sabre, the only airworthy example in the region. With a focus on safety and a positive mindset regarding the practical application of learning from past incidents, Akary enhances training protocols for safe and entertaining display flying in both propeller and jet aircraft.
"We are equally excited to welcome Frederic Akary to our board," added Manolis. "His expertise in safety protocols and his passion for warbird aviation will provide valuable insights as we work to enhance safety standards in airshows across Europe."
The European Airshow Council remains committed to advocating for the airshow industry, ensuring safety, excellence and fostering collaboration among stakeholders. With the addition of these inspiring individuals, the Council is poised to continue its legacy of promoting excellence within the airshow community.
