The 2025 European Airshow Council (EAC) Annual Awards were presented on the evening of February 27th during the EAC Convention in Prague, recognizing exceptional achievements and contributions to the airshow community. The ceremony was presided over by EAC Chairman Dr. Manolis Karachalios, who applauded the dedication and talent of this year’s recipients.

The prestigious Ann Award for Innovation was awarded to Kurt Plyson of the Belgian Air Force, honoring his to promote the work of the Belgian Air Force, using innovative ways to increase reach and engagment, building relations and trust with militaries and civil organisers alike. Kurt's contribution to his efforts with the International Sanciole Airshow were also recognised as part of the award, endorsed by Honorary Chairman Gilbert Beukenberghs.

The Paul Bowen Trophy was presented to Andrej Fiorelli of the Slovenian PC9M Solo Display. This accolade celebrates his outstanding performances and unwavering commitment to the art of aerial display, showcasing exceptional skill and artistry in every fligh, over the last 10 years, which is an exceptional period to be a nations military display pilot.

Alexnader 'Noble' Stegmair recieves the Chairmans Award

In recognition of their generous charitable efforts, the Chairman’s Award was bestowed upon the German EF2000 team and NH90 team for their active support and donations to aid the flood-stricken residents of the Slunovrat Elderly Home in Ostrava. Their kindness exemplifies the spirit of community and compassion within the aviation sector.

The Jock Maitland Sword was awarded to PlanesTV for their invaluable contribution to the airshow industry. Since 1989, PlanesTV has played a crucial role in capturing and promoting airshows, bringing the excitement of aviation into the homes of thousands and fostering a love for flight among audiences worldwide.


Dr. Karachalios expressed pride in the accomplishments of all award recipients, stating, “These awards highlight not only individual talent and creativity but also the collective passion of our community to make a positive impact. We celebrate those who push the boundaries of aviation and dedicate themselves to supporting those in need.”


The annual awards ceremony is a highlight of the EAC Convention Dinner, underscoring the commitment to excellence, innovation, and community within the airshow industry. As the EAC looks ahead, it aims to continue fostering recognition and support for those whose efforts help shape the future of airshows and aviation.
